Advanced Night Repair by Estée Lauder Review

It’s no secret that the skincare market for women is much bigger than that of mens. Billions are poured each year into creating new serums, moisturizers, cleansers etc for the fairer sex. Unfortunately for men, it means we’re left with a much smaller pool of products to choose from.

But as brands start to recognise men’s spending power, this is starting to change. In the mean time though, guys can safely turn to Estée Lauder’s iconic Advanced Night Repair if they’re concerned about dry and ageing skin.

But isn’t the Advanced Night Repair for women?

The difference between men’s skin and women’s skin is not profound, meaning that any skincare products ‘designed’ for women can be also used for men (and vice versa). Men tend to have larger pores, thicker and oilier skin, but have higher collagen density than women’s.

Although the Estée Lauder markets this product to women, men with dry skin or skin that is sensitive or easily irritated will find this a beneficial serum.

A look at Advanced Night Repair’s Ingredient List

As with all skincare products, the most important part is the ingredients list, and the serum contains proven moisturizing ingredients like:

  • Glycoprotein/Polysaccharides – which are involved in cellular repair, among other functions
  • Dimenthicone
  • Pantethine (aka Panthothenic Acid or Vitamin B5)
  • Sodlium Hyaluronate – an excellent moisturizing ingredient
  • Antioxidants – the inclusion of Vitamin E in the form of tocopheryl acetate and Vitamin A (retinyl palmitate)
Beyond this, Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair also includes plenty of soothing and anti-irritant ingredients like chamomile and allantoin that make it suitable for anyone with sensitive skin.

Overall thoughts on Advanced Night Repair

The Advanced Night Repair is a great product if irritation and dry skin are your primary concern. There are plenty of proven ingredients that help keep skin hydrated. Men with sensitive skin will also appreciate the sans fragrance formulation.
However, if you’re looking for something to help with wrinkles or fine lines, then a daily retinoid (like Retin A) would be a better choice.
