L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme is a masculine floral fragrance from Japanese design powerhouse Issey Miyake. It’s a great choice for those looking for a summer cologne since it has a light smell that’s perfect for warm weathers. It opens with top notes of Japanese Citron, Cypress and Mandarin that are fresh and floral, and it gets muskier as it dries overtime.
The good news is that this cologne from Issey Miyake is highly underrated, meaning not many other guys will be wearing it. It’s also stood the test of time (it’s been out since 1994) despite no major advertising or promotion; and yet it’s still available in most department stores.
What we like about L’eau D’Issey is that it lingers on the skin effortlessly and it changes subtlety as it dries. Some may be deterred by the citrus opening, but we advise giving it a second try. The middle and base notes get more masculine as the cologne dries and this is where L’eau D’Issey really shines. The middle notes has blue water lily and a hint of cinnamon, whilst the base notes are composed of musk, amber and Indian Sandalwood which give it a well-rounded smell that draws people in.
Overall, L’eau D’Issey Pour Hommeis a well-made cologne, light enough for summer and versatile enough to suit work and evening functions.
