One little thing I like about British shoemaker Grenson is that they give their shoes human names. For example, there’s the Alice, a polite and study pair of shoes. And then there’s the Finton, utilitarian yet classy. For something more rugged, there’s the Acklam or Cayton. But of all the shoes Grenson makes, my personal favourite is the Sid brogue.
The ‘Sid’ brogue is a classic, no fuss type of brogue. Made from calf grain for a soft touch, the Sid brogue has a double sole for comfort and extra resilience – not that you’d be kicking them around. This pair of brogues also features a split welt. Overall, this is an instant classic from a traditional shoemaker.
